y - Clinched Division Title
x - Playoff Berth

** Special Note ** ~ The NFL expanded to 15 teams with the addition of the expansion Atlanta Falcons, thus an odd number of teams existed (making byes necessary). This was the last season that the NFL had just two divisions, which in this setup the conference champions went directly to the NFL Championship Game. And as was agreed prior to the season, the two rival football leagues, the NFL and the AFL had their champions meet after the season to play in a game which was eventually called Super Bowl I, though at the time, it was called the AFL-NFL World Championship Game at that period in time.
